The Final Push

Wednesday was a beautiful spring day with Carolina blue skies. The house movers arrived at 8:30 to start the final push out over the rails.

Tom cleaned a pallet of bricks from the old chimneys.

Rooster Cogburn crowing where the house used to stand.

Last minute measurements.

Easing it back.

The perfect spot to watch the move!

Moving the rails and cribbing further out.

It's moving!

Tom and Reese supervising.

A few inches more!

The 80 ton house is exactly positioned over the basement hole. Now the movers have to remove most of the cribbing and steel from under the house. Just enough will be left so that the house will balance there until the concrete basement and floors are poured. Amazing!

  1. That was amazing! And no problem with sewage now with a hole that size!!! Haha
Is there a time line for moving back into the house?

  2. After we get electricity and water back! Maybe cover up the holes where the fireplaces go ;-)
